This is an analysis of the Ontario Public Service wage data. This is based on all public employees in the province who make over $100,000 per year.
The data is available from the Ontario provincial government. https://www.ontario.ca/page/public-sector-salary-disclosure#section-1
Use the CPI to calculate the price in every year relative to a single base year. This allows us to validly compare people’s salaries across time.

Summary of Ontario colleges highest pay relative to the median
Notice the large drop in 2017. I hypothesize that this is due to college strike actions that year. Striking faculty would not make money during that period and hence may not reach the $100,000 threshold to have their information made public.
The median salary plot shows that most college workers make around $100,000. In fact, in 2017 the median salary temporarily rises slightly for many institutions. This is consistent with workers near the threshold dropping out and, thus, leaving their more highly paid colleagues to be included in the median salary calculation. From 2018 onward, there is a reduction in variation in the median salaries across all the colleges in Ontario.
The median salary plot shows a sharp decrease in the variation of salaries in Ontario colleges. The vast majority of workers in the Sunshine list appear to be just eligible. In fact, the charts display salaries in 2012 dollars, and by that metric, the median pay of a Sunshine list worker is just slightly below the $100,000 in terms of its buying power. (Need to have broader discussion of the chained dollar calculations and the implications.)
